Counseling for Teens

736053985The pressure is too much.

Teens are stressed. Growing up isn’t easy.

There’s puberty (which can be an emotional rollercoaster). And challenging peer and dating relationships, loads of school work and extracurriculars, and being forced to figure out what to do after high school. There is tension with parents who may not be able to accept the teen’s move toward independence.

All of this PLUS the anxiety our social conditions create, especially for youth.

These days, teens face greater risk for sexual violence … and school shootings.

Youth experience rejection because of cultural and racial differences.

They are often ostracized, or their safety is threatened, when they live as their true selves, as the gender identities and sexual orientations that are deemed unacceptable by most of our society.

Teens are suffering with isolation, anxiety, depression, substance use, body dysmorphia, or suicidal ideation – threatening their mental health and sometimes even their lives.

I love working with teens!

My priority is to make them feel safe. To provide them with a nonjudgmental, punishment-free space to express anything. A space to heal.

I can support teens to create a life where they feel empowered, more confident, and less lonely and afraid. To strengthen their inner world, no matter what is happening in their outer world.
